For pre-schools, playschools and kindergartens
Preschool Health Checkup and Wellness for Playschools and Kindergartens
Young children cannot always tell us when they cannot see the board clearly, when a tooth hurts or when they are not growing as expected. A preschool health checkup gives families an early, gentle look at growth, vision and dental health, with results explained in plain language. Educure plans each session around the attention span and comfort of three- to six-year-olds.

Consent, clear records & clinical follow-up
Why early screening matters in the preschool years
The preschool years are when many habits form and when some concerns are easiest to address: a child who squints at picture books, a cavity in a milk tooth, or growth that is slower than expected. Children of this age rarely complain about these things, and parents may not notice them at home.
A school-organised checkup does not replace the child's own paediatrician. It adds a structured, regular look at the basics and makes sure every family receives a clear note on anything worth discussing with their doctor.
What a preschool checkup covers
The scope is agreed with each preschool and kept short so children stay comfortable. Typical stations are listed below. Screening flags possible concerns; it does not diagnose a condition.
- Height and weight recorded and interpreted for age
- Age-appropriate vision screening using picture-based charts
- Dental screening for visible decay, gum and bite concerns
- General observation of skin, ears and posture
- A private report for each family with any suggested follow-up
- An aggregate summary for the preschool, without individual medical details
Gentle examination practice for young children
Small children can be anxious around unfamiliar adults. Examinations are done with a class teacher or parent present, in a familiar room, and at the child's pace. Our team explains each step simply — "we are going to count your teeth" — and nothing is forced. A child who is upset can be seen later in the session or on another day.
Children remain clothed for screening. Any examination that would need more than this is not done at school; the family is advised to see their own doctor instead. Consent is collected from parents before the session, and parents can choose to attend.
Hygiene and handwashing habits
Alongside screening, preschools can add short, playful sessions on handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, brushing teeth and toilet hygiene. These use songs, demonstrations and simple activities rather than lectures, and teachers receive a short note on reinforcing the habits through the day.
Sessions are planned with the preschool so they fit the daily routine. The content and number of sessions are confirmed in the proposal.
Parent communication
Parents of young children want to know what happened and what to do next. Before the checkup, families receive a plain-language note explaining what will be checked and who will do it. Afterwards, each family receives a private report that separates normal findings from items to discuss with a doctor, with a short explanation for each.
Where the preschool uses Educure's parent app, reports can also be viewed digitally and kept as part of the child's health record over the years. Results are not shared with other parents, and teachers receive individual details only where there is a documented need and parental agreement.
