What Fit India school recognition is designed to encourage

The Fit India School framework encourages schools to make daily movement, physical education and active habits part of campus culture. Recognition criteria and application steps can change, so schools should use the current official Fit India portal and guidance when preparing an application.

Educure does not award or guarantee Fit India certification. We help schools organise student fitness assessments, participation records and improvement plans that can support a stronger, better-documented physical activity program.

Start with a student fitness assessment

A useful baseline can include age-appropriate measures of agility, speed, strength, endurance, height, weight and BMI. The purpose is to understand broad needs and plan safe activity, not to label students or make a medical diagnosis.

Our local scoring bands are approximate screening guides rather than official Khelo India norms. Schools should keep that distinction clear when communicating results to students and parents.

Build evidence throughout the academic year

Keep a calendar of PE periods, sports participation, fitness activities, teacher development and inclusive opportunities for children with different abilities. Record what was delivered, who participated and how the school responded to identified needs.

Repeat selected assessments after an appropriate interval. A progress view is more useful than a one-day score because it shows whether the program is helping students build consistency, confidence and physical capacity.

Create a school sports and fitness program

Use the baseline to plan grade-wise activities and realistic weekly goals. Include warm-up, mobility, movement skills, strength, aerobic activity, recovery and age-appropriate sports exposure. Avoid extreme weight-loss targets and treat BMI as one screening measure among many.

Educure can help schools structure the assessment, digital records and a 12-week activity plan. Explore our Student Fitness Assessment page to request a proposal for your school.
